1.Precognition
Several years ago, Chris made a video of himself reading a fake text from Steven Spielberg accepting a role for Jurassic Park 4. Little did he know he would end up starring in Jurassic World...Or did he?
2. Shame on the shamers
Pratt has become known for his ability to bulk and cut for various roles. His role in Jurrassic Park 2 is no different. In fact, he has lost so much weight that people are saying he is too skinny. He eloquently responded to these allegations with an Instagram post in a way only Pratt can.
3. Secret stripper past
Le gasp! Chris Pratt used to work as a stripper, before his career took off, but he was apparently not very good. He auditioned for a steady gig at a strip club, but bombed the audition.
4. That homeless guy
Pratt used to be homeless, living out of his van in Hawaii before landing his first acting job.
5. Wrestling champ
Chris used to wrestle and even finished fifth in a state tournament in high school.
6. Sprichst du Deutsch?
Pratt learned German in school and is fluent in the language.
7. Getting “discovered”
While living in Hawaii, Pratt waited on tables at Bubba Gump Shrimp in Maui, where he was discovered by one of Tommy Chong’s daughters and cast in his first role. Two years later, he was in his first big role in WB’s Everwood.
8. Meeting future wifey
Chris met his future wife, Anna Faris, while they were making Take Me Home Tonight. They two married in 2009 and have a son – Jack.
9. Re-discovering religion
Pratt describes himself as a non-denominational Christian and stated that his faith was redefined after his son Jack was born prematurely. Him and his wife, Anna Faris, prayed often for the wellbeing of the baby.
10. Always the funny one
Pratt’s graduating class nominated him as the “class clown”. This guy always had a funny bone!
11. And the popular one
The actor was not only an athlete and the class clown, he was also very popular in high school. So much so, that his classmates elected him to make the graduation speech.
12. Dead bug love
Anna Faris has revealed that she bonded with Pratt over their mutual love for collecting insects.
13. Dropping things for real
The scene in Guardians of the Galaxy, where Star-Lord drops the orb – Pratt actually dropped the orb by accident, but stayed in character. The director loved it so much he decided to include it in the movie.
14. Musical skills
Chris Pratt has showed off his musical chops on Parks and Rec on several occasions, but was it real? Yup. The actor knows how to jam out on the guitar and can sing. We’ll be waiting for that debut album, thanks!
15. Coupon salesman
This is an odd one, mostly because we didn’t know this was a job. Before his acting career took off, Pratt used to also be a coupon salesman and according to the actor, he was very good at it.
16. Vanlord
When Chris was selling coupons out of his van he ended being issued an insurance ticket he couldn't pay for. This resulted in an warrant being issued for his arrest. This technically he was a real outlaw before he played one in Guardians of the Galaxy.
17. Weight fluctuation
The actor lost and gained 70 pounds several times for different roles in the past five years.
18. Becoming a baseball pro
For his audition for the role of Scott Hatteburg in Moneyball, Pratt learned how to play baseball – including batting left handed (despite being right-handed). That’s dedication.
19. Parks & Rec fame
Chris was supposed to only be a guest star on NBC’s Parks & Rec, but he was so well loved that he was bumped up to being a regular in season 2.
20. Lego figurines
Chris Pratt's characters are so well-liked that he has had three Lego figures based on them: one for Emmet from The Lego Movie, Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy and Owen from Jurassic Park.
21. He dated his “sister”
OK, not really. Pratt did date his onscreen sister from Everwood, Emily VanCamp.
22. Washington neighbours
Chris Pratt and Anna Faris both grew up in Washington, in towns only 20 minutes away from each other.
23. Artist’s hands
Chris Pratt is not just ridiculously good-looking and talented in acting; he is also a bit of an artist. The actor used to draw a lot in high school and painted some murals for a friend’s restaurant.
24. Star-Lord costume thief
Don’t die from adorableness… But apparently Chris Pratt stole his Star-Lord costume from the Guardians of the Galaxy set so he could visit sick children in the hospital in character. Cue collective “aw”.
25. He is Star-Lord
Apparently, director of Gunn loved Pratt’s audition so much, that he was prepared to offer him the role without the weight loss. The actor chose to request six months to drop 50 pounds and ended up losing over 60! We can all agree, no one would be better in that role.
26. Sexting days
Chris Pratt and Anna Faris used to have a designated day for sexting called sex-text Wednesdays, when they could send each other the filthiest messages.
27. Improv king
Christ Pratt loves improvising on-set. He even improvised the kissing scene in Jurassic Park, so Bryce Dallas Howard’s reaction is real!
28. Pulling a prank on Amy Poehler
In a scene on Parks and Rec, Amy Poehler’s character Leslie accidentally walks in on a naked Andy (Chris Pratt) – as a prank, Pratt ditched the nude undies he was supposed to sport and went bare pickle on set. So, the look of surprise on Poehler’s face is 100% genuine.
