Sultry Facts About Demi Moore, Hollywood's Brunette Bombshell

Originally a member of Hollywood’s infamous Brat Pack of the 1980s, Demi Moore has had a legendary (and legendarily scandalous) career.  Here are 42 star-studded facts about Demi Moore.

1. Different Shades

You might not have noticed this, but Moore's eyes are actually two different colors. Her right eye is a shade of hazel, while the other eye is green. We’re wondering if anyone’s caught that while watching her films!

2. First Motivation

Moore was first inspired to try acting when she was just a 17-year-old teenager.  At the time, she was living next door to aspiring actress Nastassja Kinski. Kinski was still becoming familiar with the English language, so she recruited Moore to help her with the scripts. In turn, Kinski noticed a talent in Moore and suggested that she try acting as well.

3. Younger Than She Looks

Moore's first big role was in the 1985 blockbuster hit St. Elmo's Fire, which rocketed her to stardom. When she attended an audition for the role of Jules, she decided to ride a motorcycle into the meeting and wear new clothes that fit the part. There was just one problem: all the tags were still on the garments!

4. That Hurts

The infamous "Brat Pack" consisted of heartthrob actors like Rob Lowe, Molly Ringwald, and Emilio Estevez as well as Moore. But in reality, the group absolutely detested the name. Moore once referred to the term “Brat Pack” as “demeaning,” since she felt it turned a group of determined young actors into a bunch of juveniles.

5. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Even aside from her scandal-ridden marriages, Demi Moore has been a subject of much gossip when it comes to her love life. When she was still just a 16-year-old teenager, Moore met and fell in love with the married, much older musician Freddy Moore. The two ignored their parents' warnings, moved in together, and were married after Freddy got a divorce and Moore turned 17. They tried their best, but they were just too young: their relationship dissolved after five years.

9. Enough Is Enough

In St. Elmo’s Fire, Moore portrayed a college graduate who is struggling with an addiction to substances. But the truth was even more tragic than fiction. Moore actually almost lost out on acting in the film because of her very real chemical dependencies. Director Joel Schumacher pushed her to sign a contract confirming that she would put her addictions in check.

10. First Hollywood Love

One of Moore's earliest and most high-profile relationships was with her fellow Brat Pack member Emilio Estevez. The two young actors met and fell in love on the set of the movie Wisdom, and they were engaged shortly after. Not for the first time, Moore's impulsiveness came back to haunt her: the two never got married.

11. Mother Moore

Moore has three daughters: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. Though these may seem like classic bizarre Hollywood names, each one of them has a secret meaning. 12. Chapel of Love

Demi Moore and Bruce Willis became the Hollywood power couple to beat when they married in November 1987. 14. Sixth Time’s the Charm

When Moore’s racy film Striptease was coming out, all people could talk about was her shirtless scene in the film. But few people know the even more scandalous truth. 15. How Touching…

In the film Indecent Proposal, Moore has a scene where Robert Redford's character talks about a woman he loved who he lost contact with. 16. Working Part-Time

In 1998, Hollywood became too much for Moore. She left Tinseltown for the calm and quiet of Hailey, Idaho. To be fair, she hardly had anything to prove after the heights she’d reached in the first half of the decade.

17. Doll Face

Demi Moore has a very creepy hobby. The actress is an avid collector of dolls. Actually, that's an understatement. One of Moore’s most infamous appearances on television took place while she was promoting Striptease. It’s safe to say that America took notice of a stunt like that.

Moore very nearly starred in the film Flashdance, but she lost out after a very controversial casting decision. Jennifer Beals won, nabbing herself the role.

One of the most well-known and scandalous moments of Moore’s career was when she posed undressed for the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. The following year after baring all, Moore returned to Vanity Fair, posing once again for the cover. This time, Moore looked covered up—but it was all a lie. Shortly after Moore’s first appearance, she returned to an interview with David Letterman to promote her film G.I. Jane. 32. Gimme Moore

Despite her golden reputation in Hollywood, Moore's crews gave her a scathing nickname behind the scenes. In private, Moore was allegedly nicknamed “Gimme Moore” amongst Hollywood social circles. Apparently, as her star rose, Moore demanded more and more exorbitant benefits and swag on her film contracts. But the details are stranger than fiction...

33. Important Project

Moore's diva behavior doesn't stop at her flashy film demands, either. She also is very particular about her private life. When her first daughter, Rumer, was born, Moore didn't want to miss a single second: she actually hired three different cameramen to document the event. Maybe she wanted to catch the moment from all angles?

34. Flying High

Demi Moore wasn't called "Gimme Moore" for nothing. Her reputation for being a diva with unreasonable demands only grew on the set of G.I. Jane. When Moore began dating fellow Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher in 2003, the tabloids went wild. The boyishly handsome Kutcher was 15 years younger than the beautiful Moore, and most outlets doubted the relationship would ever last. Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore's relationship remained a hot gossip topic for years—but in 2011, infamous scandal struck. It was also on their wedding anniversary.

The claim ignited weeks of rumors about the state of their marriage, and in November 2011, the couple announced that they were separated. Their divorce was finalized in 2012.

Moore was born on November 11, 1962, in Roswell, New Mexico. She was the daughter of young parents Charles Harmon and Virginia King. 38. The Father You Choose

Little Demi never got to have much of a relationship with her biological father. In fact, her legal name is "Demi Gene Guynes."

Moore's mother kept a dark secret from her daughter. She hid the existence of her biological father from the young girl, and Demi only found out about him when she was 13 years old and rummaging in her mother's papers. Moore uncovered her mother and stepfather Guynes's marriage certificate and saw that they had only married a year after she was born.

This led Moore to ask her mother about the discrepancy, and Virginia revealed everything she knew about her first husband. She also revealed that she and Charles had split up before Demi was even born.

Tragically, Moore's mother and stepfather's relationship was also doomed to a heartbreaking end. Virginia and Dan Guynes separated in the late 1970s.
